Teaching Finnish

I have experience of teaching Finnish  to international and Finnish children and adults. 

I have taught Finnish language from the very beginning to the advanced level.  

I will accommodate the classes to the customer’s needs.

I am happy to teach learners of all ages.

My Teaching Philosophy

I believe in positive pedagogy. I treat every learner with respect and encouragement. I emphasize the importance of a positive attitude and a supportive learning environment. My goal is to help learners believe in themselves — that is when learning happens best.

Language proficiency is a holistic skill that includes reading, speaking, writing, reading comprehension, and listening comprehension. In my teaching, I focus on all of these areas.

My Language Skills

I have studied many languages myself and enjoy learning them. I have lived abroad for three years:

• One year in Australia Rotary exchange student in Wangaratta High School

• One year in France as an Erasmus student In the Université Toulouse le Mirail

• One year in Sweden working as an au pair in Stockholm

I believe this background gives me competence and understanding what it is like to learn Finnish as a foreign language and to integrate to a country.
